Surviving Super Bowl 101

I love football.  Heck, I love the Super Bowl!  Yes, even when my team isn’t playing (GO HAWKS FOREVER!)  But every now and then, it’s good to brush up on your Super Bowl survival skills.  So here’s some tips from me on how to get through this hectic day!

  1.  If you’re going to a potluck, cook the day before!  If you’re like me, I usually do things last minute.  Probably because I think I’m Superwoman and can do everything super quick and get it all done in no time at all.  NOT the case, but hey, a girl can dream.  This year, I’m making my mom’s famous potato salad to take to a friends house for a good old-fashioned potluck.  YAY FOOD!  I’ll be cooking my dish tonight in prep for tomorrow….that way it also has plenty of time to chill overnight!classy
  2. Be prepared for screaming and probably some heated arguments about why the ref made a bad call (or why someone didn’t catch the ball).  If you go into this day thinking that everyone is going to be happy and get along, you’ve never been to a Super Bowl party.  Remember, at the end of the day, there’s always more punch.  superbowl-party1
  3. EAT!  Superbowl Day is cheat day.  Therefore, that strict diet you’ve been on does not…I repeat, does not count on this glorious day.91eac26813eef121_no_diet
  4. HAVE FUN!  Listen, all I’m really getting at is that the Super Bowl is an awesome day filled with awesome people, and awesome fun.  Enjoy it.  Laugh.  Get too into the game.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow…and go BRONCOS (rooting for a friend)!
