I know this is completely off subject of my normal posts…but I wanted to take a moment to write about this! Yesterday was such a rough day for me. I try avoiding going to any type of animal shelters as I become a complete and total crying mess as soon as I walk in! However, yesterday I had to face my shelter fears and go!
You see, the day before I had found a post from Husky Haven (local Husky rescue organization) saying that a beautiful female husky called “Sugar” had been dropped off by her owners and that she only had a few days left to live. This beautiful 5 year old girl has never properly been taken care of and never really loved. Her entire life has been spent giving birth to many litters of pups. Once she was of no use to her owners anymore, she was taken to the shelter. Her story particularly stuck out to me because of another dog my family had fostered at one point and ended up adopting! I’m not a fan of breeders at all, but it infuriates me when they just get rid of the dog after they’ve used it up.
I get to pick up Sugar on Monday after she’s been spayed and I already have a forever home lined up for her! I can’t wait to see how beautiful the rest of her life is. This is just a friendly reminder that there are sooooo many beautiful dogs in shelters needing and wanting to give you love!!! Don’t support breeders and their horrible antics! Go adopt and save a life!
